Fit Review and Store Report: Midnight Bloom Inspire Tight III, Midnight Bloom Wunder Under Crop III, Midnight Bloom Sculpt Tank, Bundle Up Scarf, Rush Hour LS

This print is super pretty in person. I was very tempted with the WUC's in the new 69% Nylon-31% Lycra Fullux but my store didn't have the high rise version and I don't think I want High Times Pants. I find the Inspire Tights more flattering in the butt area because of the seam details. Because they are pants on me and have mesh inserts they are a pass, but the print is amazing.

I really loved the feel of this material. It's really breathable and light feeling and I definitely want to try something in this soon. I think despite loving the print though I may get tired at how limited color pairings may be with it in bottoms so I'd prefer a regular Cool Racerback in it. I may bite the bullet on high rise WUC's.

Sculpt Tank TTS 10
I really liked the sculpt tank in this print. I may actually get this since it's unlikely we will see an old school $42 Cool Racerback in this. $71.68 though for the Sculpt Tank, it almost seems better value to get the WUC's for $88 ($98 with tax).

This felt a lot roomier for a LS than rulu LS's of this type of cut usually are on me. I was surprised. It also came in solid Emperor Blue which was pretty, but I was intrigued by this print. It looks really denimy, almost like commuter denim, but with a woven rulu texture. I'm not tempted by this despite it's nice simplicity. I would rather hold out for a Tuck And Flow LS.

Bundle Up Scarf one size
This scarf was really nice from the front but the back sat at a biased angle and was too short if I had the front adjusted in a way that I liked. I'm pretty sure last years version was longer in the back.  I think this will work well for somebody petite or with a short torso. It also comes in black I wasn't tempted by this because I have last years poncho shaped scarf with a zipper on it and I really like that one.

  1. Woof. Rulu l/s are now $108? I remember the days when it was $78/$88. I used to get 1-2 every year but I don't know about that anymore. My impulse purchases have certainly dropped with the price increases.

    1. I know. Now $78 just buys you a tank.

    2. Crazy! You mentioned how you'd rather spend 88.00 for crops instead, and I'm fully in agreement. For some reason I can justify more money for pants because of A. Jeans (so much money for certain brands) and B. More fabric.
$78 for a tank or $10 more for pants. I'd get more wear out of the pants.
Great try ons, I like the look of the Rush Hour LS, but maybe on WMTM.

  2. Wow. $108 for a rulu long sleeve is ridiculous. That's up $20 from most recent years prices for rulu long sleeves. I guess that means the rulu half zips will be $128 now... wow. Plus, all the special details they used to put into their rulu tops designs have been disappearing over past few years... And, a lot of the rulu tops last couple years have stuck around long enough to end up going to WMTM. These tops just aren't worth the price anymore, the prices have become truly insane.

It worries me that they seem to be making them looser fitting/roomier. I wear a size 2 for rulu tops, so this means I wouldn't be able to size down if needed :(

    1. ... not that I'd be willing to pay these kinds of prices anyway, haha! ...maybe if made it to WMTM or a super amazing one came along (which I kind of doubt sadly)...

    2. I am usually a sucker for anything Rulu but not this shirt! And at that price? Err, nope.

If you really want it, you'll just have to wait for wmtm until it comes down to the "usual" $98 or whatever. Or just continue to wait it out for the inevitable online warehouse sale. I say that because of the amount of items on WMTM at the ridiculous-barely-a-deal prices. Should be renamed WATG (We Are Too Greedy). If the items are not moving at the full prices and they are not moving at the WMTM prices, have you clued in yet LLL?

Midnight Bloom is easily going to WMTM.

    3. Totally agree anon 5:11. This company's decisions are truly baffling. The price hikes and WMTM prices just don't make much sense, I mean, the stuff isn't selling... it's all sitting there, some of it for quite a while... there has even been stuff from last year make a reappearance... I don't get it... WATG (We Are Too Greedy), lol

  3. LOL TUXEDO, you crack me up. I also had a good laugh at you figuring out the better deal on which item to buy in the Midnight Bloom. I love your reasoning but for me the better deal would be to wait until this print goes to WMTM then buy what you want because I have a feeling that's where it's going to end up.

I am curious about the Rush Hour l/s because you said it comes in Emperor Blue. Was the neckline loose and are there any details on the back? It looks like there are seams or pleats on the back from what I could see from the inside of the top. I really like snug/cozy necklines on rulu tops.

Thanks so much for the fit reviews and laughs, Happy Monday!

  8. The jeans with scarf combo looks nice on you. Though, the scarf is not worth the price.

As for this midnight bloom print, this is a very easy pass! Does not appeal to me in the least.

  10. I really like the sculpt tank on you. I would get that, though price-wise the WUC IS a better $ option. Go with what you will wear more. I really like the print so I will definitely pick up something in it.

  11. Hey Lulumum do you have any insight to whether we will be getting a Tuck and Flo this year because I am waiting on that as well?

  12. Midnight bloom goes straight to WMTM guaranteed. Scarf looks really good on you. I'm kinda liking Rush Hour top, but by the time it'll get to WMTM it'll be Christmas time :( also my size 4 seems to be very popular and I hardly see anything in it on WMTM

  14. Hi, does anyone know if the Be Present Scarf is really thin? or not, I bought a wool scarf like the present moment 2 years ago and it was so thin, if not super careful could poke a hole thru it. I can't tell by looking online and I am unable to get to a store. I was wondering if it is soft and not so thin like the last one I bought

    1. The Be Present scarf is not super thin. It's not thick and wooly, but it wouldn't tear easily. It is almost the exact same scarf as the Sun to Moon scarf released last year.

  15. Wasn't sure I liked this print but it looks amazing on you! I have to try it. :)

  16. It's great to see the length on you, since we are the same height. I'm not too enamored with this flowery print for bottoms, but it looks very good as a top with jeans! The prices are getting shocking for my wallet, so I will also wait for things to hit WMTM, or buy only if find something really special (which happens less and less, the designs are getting more and more generic looking).

  17. 108?!!! I just bought the Insculpt vest for 108 and it's reversible!

    1. Honestly, this hits the nail on the head with regard to the problems in pricing. It's not that they increased their prices or that they did it so drastically, it's that they did it SO inconsistently that they're creating dissatisfied shoppers. It creates confusion as to their strategy, not to mention the amount of stuff that is ending up on WMTM. You're better off waiting two weeks and getting a $10 discount on most items. It begs the question, what's the strategy? IS there a strategy?

  19. Some nice pieces uploaded in UK this a.m. There is a nice looking Rush Hour Jacket very similar to Kanto Catch Me Jacket I bought a couple of years ago in black. The Rush Hour has thumbholes which the Kanto doesn't so I like that change. It also comes in Deepest Magenta and Sapphire, yay some nice coloured jackets.
