I've recently discovered that Carbon 38 has some brands that I've been interested in trying out or have tried but have been wanting to order. I've been dying to try out the Varley Navy Marble Palms Tights and Marble Print Clover Sweat Top, the Alo Airbrush Glossy Black Crops which I've tried on before, and I was really excited to see they carry Repetto as well as MZ Wallace and other none traditional athletic wear brands. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the Alo Yoga Airbrush Glossy Black tights or the Motto Leggings tonight since Lululemon has been such a bust for me lately. I'm often asked from people who I think Lululemon's biggest competitors is and they are always surprised when I don't say Nike or Under Armour but I reference these new up and coming boutique sites that offer a huge variety of high end fashion forward inventory. The curated content on these sites is really inspiring.

love the pink leggings, but the price is a might steep (despite the donation to cancer research) and I see no indication that there are pockets. Also worried about sheerness, but still love them enough to drool.
ReplyDeleteI have that camo Olympia tank. It's too long to wear to the gym imo , but great for casual wear
ReplyDeleteAlo moto leggings are my fave (I have 3 pairs and counting) but they are on the long side, as their full length leggings tend to be (I'm 5'4"). I find them visually lengthening and fun to wear, with just the right amount of mesh and gloss.
ReplyDeleteI've been eyeing the Alo Airbrush ones for months now, but I have no idea what size to order. Some reviews say TTS, some say the airbrush ones run tight and to size up. I'll be curious to hear your review. The moto ones are cute too!!
ReplyDeleteYou can also get some of these brands at Hemm.ca which is a Canadian website.
ReplyDeleteYes that was going to be my comment as well. Hemm has a more limited stock but at least you don't like money in exchange rate. And no rusk of being hit with duties :) I have ordered from them a few times and been satisfied.
DeleteAnd check the bay for alo..if you watch they run 25 or more off sales frequently....bay days should be comig up and they usually have good deals during those weeks
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you that Lululemon is losing ground to boutique brands. I'm always on Carbon38, Bandier, etc. looking for the latest and greatest. Neiman Marcus even carries a lot of cool activewear now. They've dedicated an entire department to it in my store. (Dallas area)
ReplyDeleteI also think that Athleta is coming for it. Each season gets a little better, in my opinion. Their fabrics are getting better, the styles are more fashion-forward, and the color pallet is awesome. I also love their athleisure offerings. Plus- they have petites!
Lulu is giving away every advantage they had. I swear, each season just gets worse.
Thanks for this blog, and I can't wait to hear more about the other brands you're trying.
...I'm starting to feel like I may be the only one who isn't into all this super trendy high end fashion stuff... I just can't... it's all so ugly, imo. I miss old Lulu so much right now you guys... I can't find anything anywhere that I like these days... :(
ReplyDeleteYes I've purchased from athleta they have such great sales and their return policy Is stellar! I've haven't bought from carbon 38 yet wish they had more reviews but they are constantly sending me 20% off coupons. Would love to hear more about it!
ReplyDeleteNordstom online has the Alo Moto leggings on sale for $82.50. :)
