I had a quick chance to check these out today and they were really cute but really itty-bitty. I was hoping but not expecting good coverage with supportive tops. I was not expecting that the cups would be totally unlined without the option of adding in cups. The triangle cups are just tiny and if you are a B cup or larger these may will not be for you. Dear swim designers at lululemon, we need cups to prevent our nipples from becoming visible to all, especially in a white or pale pink bikini. These will be too scandalous to wear to the toddler wadding pool this summer. Don't be that mom. The other moms with their husbands at the pool will not appreciate you. Also, the stores are making these final sale by cutting off the tags at checkout. Be forewarned you will not be able to order this online to try on at home and then return it to the store when you realize how scandalous these suits will be. Maybe they won't even be uploaded. I'm really kind of annoyed that they were able to create 3 bikini designs and one full piece but not one of them was made with fuller boob and butt coverage. I'm not looking for a Duggar style bikini, just one that is not super low rise and that wont allow my butt and boobs to escape. Sheer white bikini bottoms? Hope you have a good brazilian waxer on standby for the rest of the summer. I'd like to try these on tomorrow and give you a proper fit review but I'm not sure I'll be in the mood for the self flagellation that will inevitably come when these don't fit me at all. From a premium athletic wear company, I definitely expected better designed and more functionable pieces with a more universal fit. If lululemon wants to break into the water sports category then they really need to step it up and consider who their market is.
*early review from a reader that is 'A' cup says that she was spilling out of all of these tops except for the swim racer which fit like a Flow Y, but the swim racer is cut too high in the back racerback and if you have neck pain issues with a scoop neck tank you will with this one for sure.

| These are the shorts worn with the Centred Focus Bra This is the kind of coverage I was expecting. |
I think the pink and grey one are my favorite, but the top is too narrow for my bust.
This top looks the most promising.

Disappointing! I too was hoping for fuller coverage! I mean, look at that second pic, that girl is spilling over the top of her suit and she's not even that busty! Not for me!!
ReplyDeleteVery disappointing. Apparently no one who designs at Lululemon has ever had kids because they are definetly not catering to the Moms that have stretch marks, bigger bellies and larger boobs. Every time a top comes out that's baggier in the stomach it's see thru. Who wants to see my stretch marks? Not me. Would it have killed them to make a tankini? Or a bathing suit that covered your sides? Probably not. I'm not saying they have to cater to a plus size market but making things so that us 8-12 girls look good in would be nice
ReplyDeleteThey really said it all by only showing pictures of them in girls with no boobs and rocking bodies and six packs didn't they? Lulu seems to quickly be losing site of their customers. Isn't the average size of a female in north America a size 10-12?
ReplyDeleteI'm "that mom" and proud of it!!!
ReplyDeleteThese suits aren't really that cute and they border on matronly, to be honest. If they had cups, I'd totally get one for the toddler pool. What some other husband thinks isn't my problem. You should see my non-lulu bikinis!
Good, and you should be that mom and proud. I said that jokingly of course.
DeleteI couldn't resist checking these out tonight. The other tops besides the racer were so small, the tiny Ed that was trying it on at the moment even felt uncomfortable. She claimed she doesn't even fill out an "A" cup, and she was afraid that if she raised her arms it would be indecent. I tried on the racer top, boyshort bottom, one piece, board short, and dress. I actually liked all except the dress. The dress was a perfect length (I'm 5'8"), but bagged and gaped horribly in the back, and armpits cut so strange and low. I actually loved the one piece, which really surprised me. The racer top fits well and covers, but I totally agree w/the scoopneck comparison. I wear scoops all the time, so wasn't a problem. The boyshort didn't cut in at all on the hips or bum. The board shorts are cute, but super short. I love the fold over waist! Most board shorts are way too big in the waist if they fit my bum. And the stretch a little bit. I also would have liked to see a few more "athletic" pieces in there too.
ReplyDeleteI'm that mom too!!! I've worked hard to look like I do & I'm proud of my stretch marked 6 pack- I have 2 children. I agree with anonymous 8:53, the husband is not my concern.
ReplyDeleteYou should be proud of your hard work. My 'that mom' reference was jokingly referring to the fact that the tops are thin and unlined so your breasts would pretty much be exposed once the suit got wet.
