I love the neck done all the way up. It looks military inspired this way. All the way down it looks more feminine.
This is the inside of the lapel. Zipper closure and also snaps. NOT a metal zipper.
The jacket is very flexible and moveable because of the
four two way stretch. I could wear this comfortably while driving.
*sigh* I might have to cave and get this jacket anyways even if I loathe the price...
ReplyDeleteThe jacket is gorgeous. Just more than I am able to pay, especially since it wouldn't do me for the winter here in NS, it would be more of a fall/spring jacket.
ReplyDeleteHey lulumum, does the coal and/or black have the contrast lining like the shark color???
ReplyDeleteThis educator needs to size up. The bunching at the back would indicate it's too small, even if it is a stretchy material. I'm surprised people are shocked this jacket is $228, this seems pretty much par for the course for lulu.
ReplyDeleteI Would have said anywhere from 170-190$ 228$ is alot of money. I do want this jacket, but I'd never pay the price for it. Hoping to see it come down some.
ReplyDeleteAnon 6:28 I haven't seen the other colors yet, I think there getting them this week.
ReplyDeleteAnon 6:29 I don't think this jacket is small on her I think it was just sitting funny on her. 1 size up would be huge on her.
Anon 7:09 I was expecting it to be $190 so I didn't like the extra $38...but then again that's what I almost paid the night before for a purse at Coach that was on sale and decided against at the last minute. I think a jacket is a much more practical purchase than the purse.
Isn't it two-way stretch? I think the model is wearing it too tight, it puckers in the back.
ReplyDeleteTwo way stretch, your correct. Sorry about that.
ReplyDeleteto me the photo second from the bottom looks like there is too much fabric which is causing buckling. also in the top picture it looks like there is extra fabric above the chest area. Maybe I'm wrong though. I always need two or three opinions on sizing for myself before I commit to a size.
This jacket is expensive, but I'm considering it if it will suit my needs in the winter. I live in Michigan, so average winter temps are 20 degrees F. Or would I be better off with a Columbia or North Face coat? I'm loving the North Face "Best Dam" Down Jacket (also pricey).
ReplyDeleteIt depends on if you want a sporty look (North Face) poofy or snowboard jacket or a coat style jacket. I have lots of Snowboard jackets that I use but I always love and use my dressier coats more. It rains a lot here in the fall so I like the longer length over the thighs because I hate when that area gets wet with my shorter jackets. I bet you lulu will be coming out with more down poofy style jackets like the vest soon so it just depends on the style of jacket you want.
ReplyDeleteI find it quite warm but then again I can't handle being too bundled up. I get hot really easily.
I definitely don't like the poofy/down look...just not my style. I prefer a more defined fit, like this jacket. I'm just concerned that it's not going to be as warm as a down jacket.
ReplyDeleteIt's quite warm, just not as warm as a down jacket. I think it's warmer than a heavy fleece jacket, plus you can wear a Stride under it. If you size up you can wear a scuba underneath it. That's what I sometimes did with my columbia jackets through the winter. I would take the inner lining out and just use a remix on the cold days but for most of the time I can get away with just using the shell.
ReplyDeleteI think the model is shaped like me...short torso and long legs. Alot of lulu styles pucker like this on me, size up sometimes helps (it does look a little snug in the front) but sometimes I just have to sigh and put it back on the hanger because the style just doesn't work on me!
ReplyDeleteI think this jacket is great for Vancouver - it rarely gets below freezing here.
ReplyDeleteI would be concerned about it's warmth in colder places - personally I couldn't be bothered to layer another jacket underneath - I just want to grab a jacket & go. I too, prefer a more fitted/girly design. I think this would be great with jeans too.
I bought a shark one home to "visit" - I'll see whether or not I can swing it in terms of price. I prefer the shark because it's still a neutral and I have so much black & coal already.
Yes I've decided to keep the Shark as well, it's a really pretty and light neutral with some good contrast. Mine went from visiting my house from inside of the lulu shopper to visiting my closet.
ReplyDeleteI think the fit in the shoulders is right due to that seam with the pleating across the back.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks snug in the chest/shoulders in the front. I don't think it should pull like that; maybe she has broader shoulders though.
