Community Jacket

This jacket looks really good on her. I like it in a smaller fit like this and wonder if she's sized down.  I really hate it when the jacket looks really puffy and pools at the arms and waist.

  1. I agree! This is one of the better pictures I've seen of this jacket.

  2. I am so confused...I have been wanting a stride for ages so decide I am going to get lolo then they release this jacket? what to do what to do...
also, off topic, I tried on the 4 in the stride (most people suggested sizing down) but found the bottom band tight, which I found peculiar since I am a 4 in pants. It was the static one and I am wondering if maybe this fabric has less stretch to it? Do you know?? thx!

  3. yes I sized down on my stride and it's a snugger fit around the waist but the rest of the jacket I have plenty of room. the one I got is brushed luon so it does have a bit more give than the static would. I do find the static to be less stretchy because of the added polyester. I'm finding my static CRB less stretchy than my others. I don't mind this in most items but with things like wunder unders I would go for a more liberal size for comfort just because it's so fitted.

  4. @Anon and lulumum - the static Stride jacket is less stretchy compared to regular luon pr the stripes luon (what you call that, running luon, maybe?. Hope this helps.

  5. @Anon 0357pm - Uh oh.. hard decision.. :).. To me, the stride jacket could be more for almost year round usage. The Community Jacket is for fall and spring or cold summer morning.

What is the purpose of the jacket? Technical or going to/from? For technical, it is definitely the Stride jacket. If it is for to/from, then go for the Community jacket. (The lolo purple is so gorgeous in Community Jkt . After 30 minutes, I have decided to get the black one for practicality)

I have another dilemma if I should get the Journey Jacket instead of the Stride jacket in DCSG/Senorita Pink that I just got.

  6. LOL....I guess I am not the only lulu addict struggling with decisions!
Lulumum, you mentioned the brushed luon having more give...would the lolo stride also have more give to it? I'm torn on what size to get.
Anon@ 7:05, the Journey jacket is gorgeous! That is another tough decision!!

  7. @Anon 0712pm - I am Anon 0705pm.. I size down for my Stride Jackets - I normally a size 4, I take size 2 for the Strides. If I stay at size 4 for the Stride, there is so much extra fabric in the front and in the back (since I am petite size, it looks like I borrow the jacket).

But everyone is different, if someone would like loser fitting, stay true to size. When I see the tag saying loser fitting jacket, usually I go down a size.

I am still spinning my head with the Journey Jacket. One of my drawback is that I am quite busty, so I am worry that the pocket will make me looks bustier. Especially, since I have been looking at the picture closer and it shows that the pocket has some depth - not as flat pocket. If the jacket is more plain than it is now, I will buy it right away. Do you remember the Corsette Jacket and the Admiral Jacket? I got those right away without hesitation. Argh.. back to thinking again..

  8. Stride and Community jacket are very different.

I sized down for a Stride. I'm usually a 6 in both tops and bottoms, I went with a 4 for the Stride in Oasis. I know it was supposed to fit looser, but when I tried on my regular size the shoulder seams were way wider than my actual shoulders and baggy allover. My chest is larger than lulu's size chart for a size 6, but my shoulders are narrow.

My stride is more fitted on me than it it looks on the models on lululemon's website - but I didn't want it to be that loose. I posted some pictures of it on me on my blog around 7/22 if you want to see the fit when sized down. It's not so tight in the waist band that I can't wear it with other bottoms - I wore it with jeans a couple weekends ago.

  9. Anon 7:12 - Yes the brushed luon and the regular luon both have more give than the Static Luon. They also have added the ribbed luon panels in certain areas in the new strides that add a lot of stretch.
