I See Why It's Called Static Wave Stripe
Every picture I've seen of this print seems to make this weird wavy optical illusion. I wonder if that was intentional. I think the only thing I've seen not do this is the Stride II. Does not look like this in person. In person it looks more like it does on the Lululemon.com website.
i still cant decide if i like this or i dont. i think its definitely interesting and it photographs well... but for a real person, in a real yoga class? haha. still undecided...
ReplyDeleteJust as an FYI, the optical illusion in these photos is due to the nature of web resolution. This pattern would look like a solid color from a far distance, and wont do this in real life.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have the Static Wave Stripe Stride (love it) and it does not look like this in person, just when photographed. I was just wondering if this was a planned element of the print or not.
ReplyDeleteI doubt it. If the photo was print resolution and printed out it would look fine. It's simply the nature of viewing on a screen where things are web resolution. I doubt it was a design consideration.
